Community Tasting Notes 4

October 4, 2019 - Light gold colour. Needed a little while to open up. Revealed a quite Chablis-esque profile with slightly honeyed yellower stone fruit and pronounced saline and mineral elements. Showed great energy - really good wine *****

September 26, 2014 - Tasted blind, this wine had a deep yellow center and clear rims. The medium intensity nose of egg shell, citrus, nutmeg, and custard was quite attractive.

In the mouth, this wine was quite rich and ripe. It had good acidity that was burried in tons of fruit. This is not what I would have expected from a 1993! I beleive this may make some tasters think this wine doesn't have enough acidity but I beleive the wine will last and may add a point with time.

While this wine is drinking, it will easily last ten years.

October 15, 2012 - From Magnum. Dark golden hue. Rich, round, deep, viscous, a bit nutty. Definitely mature but quite engaging and lovely, if only to come and go in waves; mature, fresh, mature, fresh. The palate held even more life and verve, with acidity, length, minerality and more than just hints of a freshness that seemed to stay more than it went. I believe this was made with the help of (by) Jean-Marc Roulot...Stunning bottle, from the de Montille library cellar in Volnay, chez Hubert.

October 12, 2007 - Opened this evening and the nose was a bit burnt and almost corked like. SO I left it open in a decanter and of course this all burnt off to leave a very good bottle of wine. I hit this on the end of the curve as it was probably better 5 years ago. There was a wine emergency in the house and this fit the bill.
