July 12, 2011 - This bottle had decent fruit still but very short finish and the alcohol really showed through- the fruit had gone to a raisin profile -I love Benessere in general and enjoyed a visit to their winery a long time ago- this wine just passed its peak

April 24, 2011 - Past its prime. Overly tart.

July 1, 2005 - With prime rib and purple mashed potatoes at Zinsvalley in Napa. Old vines make potent wine. This was a strong zin with good fruit flavor.

December 17, 2004 - Dinner (new york strip steak and kobe bavette with mashed potatoes and spinich) at Zins Valley in Napa. This wine is dark-ruby/purple in color, smells like violets, sandalwood, the dusty earth where it was grown and pencil shavings. The taste is of ripe plums and the perfume of sweet French Prunes, and it finishes with a smooth and seductive touch of finesse befitting these age-old vines.
