March 22, 2019 - Deep purple in colour without any sign of evolution. Youthful and perfumed showing a compelling mix of damson plum and mulberry with cured meat and earthy undertones. Focused with depth and polish with a savoury charm and violet scents on its refined, long finish.

July 25, 2016 - Purchased directly at the winery in Urla for 100 TL (about 30 EUR). This is a new producer, vines were planted in 2006 and the first vintage produced was 2010. This is an intriguing mix of 50% Petit Verdot and 50% Rebo (an Italian hybrid of Merlot and Teroldego). Honestly I had never heard of Rebo before. The wine has been aged in French oak for 18 months. Deep ruby colour. Very spicy nose with apparent oak, good intensity, plums, cherries, coffee, milk chocolate, eucalyptus, menthol. The mouth is medium to fully bodied, with some noticeable tannin, dark fruit, vanilla, coffee, milk chocolate, menthol. Some drying tannin on the medium finish. Not exactly my style due to the heavy oakiness, but overall this is a nice effort and it feels balanced. A slight bitterness to the tannin, perhaps due to the young vines. Pretty round and ready to drink. Works well with a meaty pasta or a steak. Drink now - 2019
