Community Tasting Notes 5

April 9, 2007 - I fell in love with the Morgan Metallico about two and a half years ago. The clean, crisp apple and pear flavors are joined by a subtle minerality on the steely finish. The mouthfeel remains somewhat rich in this medium-bodied SLH / Monterey County white wine. I enjoyed two glasses with Cajun boudin and hefe-weisen / butter sauce. The Metallico did a beautiful job of cleansing the palate between bites. Yes, there are many delicious unoaked Chardonnays out there for under $15 but, at $22, I still come back to the Metallico.

February 17, 2007 - The wine has a very aromatic, very crisp, slightly appley nose. Very pure and precise on the palate. Quite crisp and very clean indeed. Very refreshing. Very Good Indeed.

February 13, 2007 - All that was promised. Pale straw in color, the nose is crisp with apple and peach, and pineapple. Rich on the tongue, with peach and pineapple, it is so clean and even a bit spicy. Really a joyous wine with vegetarian cuisine.

December 27, 2006 - I preferred this Metallico to their regular bottling. No signs of oak or melolactic fermentation - just the way I like my Chardonnays. Nice job! Would drink this again.

June 3, 2006 - Slight nose of wet stones and tropical fruit, on the palate buttery lemon with a nice touch of acidity. A very nice inexpensive ~$17 Cali chard.
