December 23, 2022 - Wow, this is a wine that forces you to pay attention to it. Intense stewed fruit flavors. Despite the 17% alcohol it doesn't come across as hot like a zinfandel of that level would, more as highly extracted. Enjoyable with food that can stand up to it. Drank the last glass after dinner 2 nights later ... had hardly changed and could almost be mistaken for a dessert wine.

August 11, 2016 - Deep maroon with lighter rim; great nose, round, hard to pull individual items but I get fresh cherries and cream, meaty, dense, overreact strawberries, green note perfectly accents the underside of the fruit, complexity is obvious but I am positive delineation will develop over time; wow, viscous, lots of tangy red fruit- raspberry, currant, cherry, cranberry, almost into pomegranate, so sappy and powerful but tidy at the same time due to acidity, slight alcohol though this holds 17% really well; a baby but I really enjoy this now too; bring on the blue cheese.

December 17, 2015 - Monthly Tasting Group LTB 2015-09; Classical Italian wines (By HV and FB): In the bouquet sweet red berries, some coffee, metal and minerals as well as some mint and a touch of barnyard. On the palate a sweet start with ripe dark berries and cherries, chocolate, a firm amount of sweetness, ok acidity and some bitterness. Improves with some more air time. There is some heat in the finish. Wait a few years. 88 – 89

November 3, 2015 - Undoubtly a good Amarone, a very long aftertaste, even freshness, no heavy, loaded, style, still, this type of wine is not mine. I'm from the fruit department.
