April 15, 2023 - The color is medium purple. On the nose there are pronounced aromas of dark cherries, blackberries, blackcurrant, plum, black pepper, leather, cedar wood. The acidity and the tannins are high. The body is medium(+). The flavors on the palate are also pronounced and similar to the nose. The finish is very long. This wine is very well balanced and at a very nice stage. I am not sure if it will gain from further aging. But no hurry, the wine will give pleasure for some more years. Glass I used: Josephine No 3.

November 28, 2021 - A big favorite last night from Bolgheri Toscana, from Podere Sapaio and their prestigious wine Sapaio. Which until this vintage 2013 was classified as a Bolgheri Superiore DOC. But which from the 2015 vintage is classified as Tuscany IGT (2014 this wine was not made). Some of their grapes come from Bibbona which is outside Bolgheri, therefore they now have to classify the wine as an IGT and not a Superiore.
    70% Cabernet Sauvignon
    20% Petite Verdot
    10% Cabernet Franc
Is 18 months on barriques and 12 months in bottle before it is released. A wonderful wine that has the dark power of Cab Sav with blackberries and black currants. A backbone and austerity from Cab Franc and the color and finesse from Petite Verdot. A great Bordeaux blend from Bolgheri 🙏🍷 Drink or hold.
