January 21, 2024 - opened and made boef bourgignon with it and the glass later was much better

    January 10, 2024 - Tasted over 3 hrs
    -nearly semi-translucent med dark red
    -candied red berry bubble gum
-med+ acidity, med- weight focused linear tangy earthy red fruit with a stony bitter spine just a faint note of early maturity, med/med- tannins
-more red-fruited and softer than last tasting 3 years ago, pretty with a bit of rusticity, drinking well now and closing in on its mature plateau

November 18, 2023 - Excellent wine in a great place. Calm with the cherry stillness others have noted. This has settled down from a few years ago, when it was more rugged...Glad I have followed this evolution over the lifespan of the 2014 vintage. The acidity here will no doubt give this another half decade or more of interest.

March 28, 2023 - Pop and pour. This is much better than the last bottle I opened several years ago. It has really smoothed out and absorbed some of the rather harsh tannins of its youth. The nose is quite pretty with bright cherry and other red fruit. While initially somewhat thin on the palate, with a little air it opens up quite nicely, following with notes of cherry and strawberry confit, developing some brambly but not offensive tannins. This unresolved structure, however, does detract somewhat from an otherwise elegant and feminine wine.

Good now… We’ll see how it is in a few hours… will likely benefit from several years of cellar aging. Looks like it is in the first peak of maturity.

January 13, 2023 - Bags loads of fresh cherry flesh, raspberry and strawberry confit.
Medium-bodied, this is a very approachable wine, drinking very nicely with strawberry and cherry flesh underscored by brisk acidity. Fairly generous and richly textured, the ripeness of fruit give fruit-induced tannins and a supple round mid-palate. There is depth and persistent to the length - hugely enjoyable wine and better than I remember!
