July 10, 2016 - Hunter Valley 2016 Trip #2: Bright lighted nose, some plum, cherry, earth and smoke. Fruit is well restrained on the palate, there is good length and really pleasing flow to the wine.

December 20, 2015 - Drank this over three nights to assess my mixed case from the legendary Hunter vintage and one of my favourite producers.
    Day 1
Plummy fruit heavy nose hints of violet and delicate spice. Fresh plums and cherry on the palate. Very abrupt young acid held in check by soft tannins leaving a furry teeth feeling, hints of pepper and length for days.
    Day 2
Nose much more subdued, almost a bit of "heat", the brash fruit flavours have started to settle into a smoother line, the acidic tartness still evident but becoming more elegant.
    Day 3
Very sundued now on the nose, slight browning on the rim, the hint of heat gone, nopw just showing violet perfume. Plums and cherries now providing the subtle flavours and the acidity has harmonised nicely with the tannin providing lovely texture and hints of leathery spices.
