February 28, 2022 - Retail $125? It was late (ish) and friends were over, but we were not quite ready to give up drinking for the night, so we popped this Beringer (following the 1994 Private Reserve). Still plenty of life here, with somewhat stewed blackberry, plum, and dried rose petals on the nose. Lovely. The palate still has a surprising amount of fruit, twenty years out, but it is paired with an acidity that is certainly on point as well as notes of leather, mocha, and clove. I would not wait much longer, though, as the tannins are completely integrated at this point.

October 1, 2016 - relative to expectations for a 2002 cali cab opened in 2016, i would say there was remarkably high acidity level and low structure, depth and terroir. it could be my bottle was off.

September 6, 2013 - Still going strong. Lots of spice (nutmeg), good tobacco, smooth but present tannins, very well integrated fruit with some slight smoke. Color is starting to change ever so slightly. Very enjoyable. I think the next bottle will pair well with a barbecue brisket. Doesn't really need a ribeye anymore.

October 28, 2012 - Can we say California cab! Classic. Not as we'll balanced as the Bancroft Berlinger in side by side, but still quite good.

December 8, 2010 - Fully mature. I would not decant this wine but if you feel it needs some air, open the bottle for an hour or so before pouring. Deep, rich flavors of plum and blackberry follow a little leather and spice on the nose. A beautifully complex and very enjoyable wine but nearing the end of its life.
