March 17, 2023 - Beautiful, I've heard turley can age but did not think this lodi zin was good almost 20 years later. Maraschino cherries, iodine, autumn leaves on the nose.

Palate is still retaining decent black cherry and blackberry fruit. Acidity is still very noticeable and finishes with tobacco and decaying leaves, which at first thought it was corked. Definitely got better as it opened up.

    Great auction buy at $50.

    March 25, 2017 - 4th Saturday Group brown bagger (R&D's): Horribly corked.

January 30, 2017 - From magnum, signed by Larry Turley. Not a hard edge left on this offering; time has beautifully sculpted this. Primary elements of plum, black cherries, black raspberries and ripe apricot are now joined by secondary elements of soft cedar, rosemary, cinders and wet pavement. A 12-year-old Zin whose time in the cellar has burnished this into a perfect accompaniment to food. Try it with grilled or poached salmon. (= Outstanding)

February 20, 2016 - 2004s around the world: Garnet around the edges. Very ripe fruit, fresh baked goods, and baking chocolate; cherry pit. Paper and coffee notes linger. Past peak. Still enjoyable but not for long. Drink now.

November 10, 2014 - Decanted little over an hour to allow sediment separation (wasn't much) before taking it out to dinner. Still drank very nice, with some of the usual zin punch a bit more subdued allowing the peppery, dried fruit undertones to stand out. Group loved it and at $38 a great value, but would drink now if you have any left.

(Turley Dogtown Zinfandel) #3; VaynerPAZZZ; COLOR-dark; NOSE-little orange zest (unusual for a ZIN), very tight, hint of cherry cola; TASTE-young & is a little too sugarfied jam (kind of fake), one dimensional fruit bomb; RP-87/89; GV-87
