September 27, 2023 - Beautiful cabernet from Gramercy that is drinking exceptionally well right now. A terrific nose of black fruit, tobacco, spice and mocha that built up intensity over 1-2 hours after opening. 20 minute decant and this bottle was singing! Black cherries, cassis, pencil lead, more tobacco leaf, mocha and nice floral lift. Smooth like butta', it went down super easy. Silky, sweet, dusty tannins have almost fully integrated. Very pleasurable. I often find the Gramercy cabs to be well-made, elegant and agreeable but often lacking in anything really distinctive. This bottle has changed my mind. No need to wait on this but it has the chops to go another 8-10 years.

October 8, 2022 - Light on its feet and still very youthful, this has an edge to it that commands attention. Light yet packs some power with bright tart cherries and raspberries, tobacco and medium finish. Just entering its drinking window, well made wine.

July 2, 2022 - Seamless, velvety, rich and elegant, this 2013 Reserve Cab from Gramercy is a tactile delight. The definition of "plush", it has a magnificent nose redolent of dark cherries, currant, #2 pencil, some baseball glove, mocha and mint. Absolutely silky in the mouth with more dark chocolate cherries, some menthol and a pervasive sweetness (not to be confused with just being "sweet"). The finish lasts a full 60 seconds. Just gorgeous right now. This bottle has restored my faith in Gramercy.

(Gramercy Cellars Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon) Hello friends. Every year when Jeb Dunnuck’s annual set of Washington reviews for Wine Advocate is released, there is a feeding frenzy for the best-reviewed wines still available. Fortunately, because we support many of these wineries all year long, our list is often offered dibs to some of these gems: Wine Advocate: Copyrighted material withheld. [Context note: The only Cabs to rate higher in this set of reviews: a pair of 100-pointers from Quilceda Creek, and a 99 for Sheridan’s Block 1.] This is vintage two of Gramercy’s reserve program for Cab. It comes from Bacchus, Phinny Hill, and Leonetti Loess Vineyards, and it was aged for 22 months in 65% new French oak. Listed alc is 14.2%, and production was a miniscule 243 cases. As in understand it, Gramercy was flooded with requests for this wine after the review was released, and they’re now sold out via the cellar door. We have dibs on the last handful of cases remaining in western Washington, but those dibs evaporate quickly. We have to place our order by Monday noon, so please try to get all requests in by tonight or Monday morning.
