Community Tasting Notes 11

April 4, 2022 - Dinner at S.K.Y. (S.K.Y. restaurant, Pilsen, Chicago IL): This was open for business right away as it leaned into a more lush style (clearly the vintage playing through) with roasted herbs, bright red Cherries, raspberries, strawberries, licorice, spices, and some fresh picked roses. The Medium/full bodied feel is plush and balanced with silky, high tannins and tart, high acidity. This feels like it should be enjoyed on the younger side. Everything is well balanced, but it does lack some depth across the nose and palate.

May 30, 2021 - The tannins are starting to integrate, and this is a very nice but not great Barolo. I love it at the $20/bottle I paid, but I wouldn’t buy it again at regular price.

May 27, 2018 - From the glass list at Gramery Tavern. Dark fruit and tar on the nose which continues through to the palate. Lots of road tar, tannins still very grippy, not a lot of other notes coming through yet. Clearly not in a good drinking window yet, although not sure this one will develop a lot of additional complexity with more time. If you have them hold them.

April 8, 2018 - Good, can be drink young?

January 16, 2018 - The current release from them apparently, so they are just a bit behind or holding it more.

DEfinately more defined and more perfume than the "no name". This does smell like classy Barolo. Powerful and suave palate with fuller fruit on it (showing the '11 vintage). Good finish.
