March 19, 2022 - A last-minute choice for dinner so only decanted 5 minutes to first short pour. Best glass came after an hour+ in the decanter. Dark purple color.
The nose presented dark red fruits, earth, and cedar. The medium to plus bodied palate showed dark red fruits, blue/black fruits, spice, earth and cedar, with nicely balancing acidity. There was a touch of tannin on the finish which tells me that this wine has several years in front of it. For best enjoyment - air it out first. -

August 17, 2019 - A big wine, nice bouquet, dark color, great fruit with a bit of alcohol to start that disappeared as we drank the bottle, the wine drank easily and has good structure and good complexity that stood out as I savored the final glass, probably can develop more but the wine is in a good place right now, enjoyed with rack of lamb, would drink again, a pricey wine.

September 7, 2016 - This Merlot-based blend impresses for its power and grace. Almost as if Shafer or Plumpjack came to Paso, this wine has more ripeness, power, and tannic bite, but the same layered fruit and inviting softness. Dark ruby red in color, full in body, nose of boysenberry, plum, pencil lead, and pine needles. Rich tastes of black cherry, dark chocolate, licorice, and cedar, with a mouth-coating and tannic finish. Blend of 62% Merlot and 38% Cabernet Sauvignon. 14.5% alcohol. Wait another year or decant, but do give it a try - it's ripe and heady, with a decent amount of tannins, but the fruit and complexity make it a pleasure to drink.
