December 2, 2017 - This had aged beautifully and gracefully. The fruit was in a really good place. Showing some bricking, but with a strong clean precise nose of plum, ripe cherry and some dried fruit and sweet oak. The palate was lush and the tannins less than firm. For 14.6% it was rather balanced with nice acidity to hold up the blue and red fruit. Highly enjoyable and primed to age for a good deal longer if you care to hold. Drink or hold up until 2028.

May 3, 2015 - Sadly, past its prime. Fading under notes, somewhat deep, dark, and earthy, but even plenty of aeration couldn't help spark this old bottle. If you have a well-cellared bottle, drink it now!

November 16, 2014 - Dark purple/garnet plum colored, bright and vibrant, medium bodied, nicely balanced complex black cherry, accents of blackberry and black raspberry fruits, an initial touch of ripe fig gives way to tones of tobacco with hints of graphite, leather, spice and cedar on a long lingering modest soft tannin finish.

October 17, 2012 - I had this at a WA wine seminar that really didn't have that much education that wasn't already known. This was drinking very well but did better after about 30 minutes of air time. Lovely nose with a mix of red and dark fruit, some dark bitter cocoa, and saddle leather. Firm tannins and acid held this beast together. If I was to enjoy Merlot as a pure varietal, this would be on the list.

November 24, 2011 - Opened a mag for Thanksgiving. This was running on all cylinders, opened the bottle abiut 2 hours before dinner. Everything was in balance for nice smooth medium finish going well with everything on the table.
