Community Tasting Notes 5

October 15, 2021 - This is really lovely stuff; great nose with ripe red berry fruit, just a hint of black currant, mineral, sauvage, and violet. Just keeps opening and changing. The palate is fresh and delicious; great fruit, lovely minerality; the depth and concentration is very good; I really like the 2014 Burgundies; great transparency and freshness. This is an excellent value. I'd love to buy more if I could at $55

May 9, 2021 - This is still open and drinking well, lovely nose of dark berry fruits, crushed stone, a hint of smoke and sauvage; the palate is balanced and fresh with great mineral notes and good fruit. Lovely finish. Should drink well for the coming 5-8 years easily.

July 29, 2017 - Very good, but very young Lavaux. Nose has lots of dark fruit, crushed stone dust, hints of savory/gamy notes. Drank over 2 nights and the nose didn't change much although the fruit was a bit more present day 2. The palate is juicy and nicely balanced now with good depth, well integrated tannins, and plenty of fruit. Finishes nicely balanced. Needs a bigger meal to drink now and will probably be better in 3-5 years.

August 12, 2016 - Bright, with more blackberry fruit than the last i just tasted. Broader mouthfill as well. Mineral, long finish, quite fine.

November 12, 2015 - A taste of many 2014 wines - village to grand cru - from Gevrey Chambertin (Roi Chambertin, Gevrey Chambertin): More rounded and more substantial than the Clos Prieur, yet not among the most concentrated or "serious" 1er crus. Still, a delicious wine!
