February 25, 2019 - Very good BdB, not austere, good yeast, yellow pit fruit, mineral, balanced fruit-mineral, simply tasty, enjoyable. At Tabula Rasa.

August 11, 2018 - Light gold in color with a fine and broad mousse. Needed about 30 minutes of air to reveal the full picture. Profound brioche and steely autolysis, a touch of pink grapefruit and banana-nut fill out the bouquet. A magnanimous bite of acidity greets the entry to the palate before the wave of fruit goodness smashes through and takes me for wonderful ride down the flavor spectrum highway. Then, it even has the nerve to add some creaminess to the long finish. At nine years in, it sure feels like another 10 is easily in the cards and I wish I had several more. 5+12+17+9= 93

December 16, 2017 - Almond and apple notes follow through on the palate. Citrus notes join in on the palate, lending a brightness to the finish. Nice acidity.

November 20, 2016 - Opened yesterday and the first glasses were overly tight, almost sour in their tartness. 20 hours later and it is more generous and expressive. Light straw color with maybe a speck of light gold. A fat mousse on top but a sparse, lazy stream of bubbles up from the bottom. The nose never did reach over a medium bar of intensity, carrying a light basket of tropical fruits and lemon meringue. Certainly crisp and dry, definitively extra brut. Good weight and texture. I plan to invest another 2 years+ before opening my other bottle. 4+10+16+9= 89

November 6, 2016 - Knightsbridge Annual Holiday Burgundy/Champagne Tasting and Sale (Northbrook, IL): Tasting, brief note. Lean, long and precise. I'm not Extra Brut's biggest fan, but I like the energy here, and it has good balance.
