Community Tasting Notes 1

November 24, 2023 - well stored bottle purchased from a reliable source in Saint Emilion. High neck fill, cork was wet but in good shape. Opened and poured a small taste, almost nothing on the nose initially but beautiful deep ruby color with amber rim. First sip hinted at what was to come, beautifully integrated old saint emilion with layers of tar, smoke, dark fruit and anise. After 30 minutes the nose came alive and everything came together with surprisingly long finish. Easy to hit or miss on a wine like this. This one was a big hit and I can still taste it in my mind.
