June 7, 2020 - Fresh and classic Cabernet fruit that is pure with good depth. Still vibrant with nice structure holding it all together.

May 24, 2020 - At 23 years, this wine is still early on its aging curve. Dark purple, almost black in color. Black cherry scent with a touch of lift from acidity, with cedar and vanilla. Black cherry, plum, ripe fruit, stem and oak tannins in the mouth. A backbone of acidity frames the flavors on the palate. Long smooth finish. This is just starting to soften and is the first of these mid 90s Snowden wines I’ve had where the fruit stands up to the wine making. California cab in an Aussie Syrah style. Wow. Still so intense. Perfect for a grilled steak.

October 2, 2016 - At seventeen years, this was tight and focused. Much like that recent single vineyard designated release, this was bright blackish garnet colored, medium-full bodied, but with somewhat subdued concentrated black berry and black currant fruits with tones of tangy clove spice, hints of graphite, black olive and truffles, turning to a long lingering clinging tannin finish, holding a long after taste of moderate oak.

June 7, 2014 - Definitely getting the cedar other reviewers noted. Also a touch of eucalyptus? And some subtle but decent fruits. Also getting a mouthful of tannins. It seems everytime I open one of these '90s era Snowdens because I'm afraid I let them sit too long ... it turns out I should have left it for a few more years. This one is no exception. I don't know if it's getting better. But it sure hasn't faded. And it's only modestly softened. Should do well with the steaks I'm about to pull of the grill ...

April 15, 2013 - Definitely a chewy texture, dark fruit, cedar.
