Community Tasting Notes 7

    April 4, 2018 - Beef+duck session at Tim''s. Tasted blind.
Slight spritz and same tasting note as before. Citrus lemon and minerality. Easy white aperitif. Seriously lacking excitement and seemingly going nowhere. Conclusion now is to drink up.

November 20, 2017 - Pop and poured. Drank at home with J over. Consumed over 2 hours.
Almost same tasting note as before, but with better acidity showing. Lovely minerality and chalkiness. Nothing more than simple citrus lemon fruit. Easy drink. Still has some spritz in it. Will still drink well over the next 1-2 years, but no point ageing this.

August 2, 2017 - Mmm - packaging and positioning, and associated cost, but pretty disappointing to be candid. I have a soft spot fo rAligoté and there are some serious and enjoyable wines. While this may need more time, I realy don'y believe it is going to become one. A shame.

March 12, 2017 - Crabby Party (Pine Close): Tasted blind.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, chrysanthmum yellow colour. Legs. Fine bit of spritz.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of stony minerality, funky briny sea-salt, citrus lemon. Fleeting hint of something floral. Developing.
On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium- alcohol (12%), medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of salty minerality, wet stones minerality, citrus lemon. Long finish.
Good quality. I was guessing a Chardonnay white burgundy, but somehow lacking fruit expressiveness. Well, can't expect too much fruit out of Aligote right?
This wine feels piece-meal at this point in time. Give this another year or two to develop and it should be better. Long finish is a good sign too.

    February 5, 2017 - Popped & poured. A bit of spritz.

Super vibrant, very youthful and energetic. Pineapples and passionfruit and some chalk. Very delicious and goes down easy. Would recommend.
