December 16, 2022 - Staggeringly great, sweet fruit and totally resolved tannins. Deep brown bricking but the wine is so alive. A lovely burnt aroma emerged at the end a la a great Brulees. So many great wines served today, and this was a standout among tough competition.

December 20, 2019 - Holiday Burgundy Lunch (Scottsdale, AZ): Served blind. GORGEOUS floral aroma, combined with the freshest and most lovely earth. The way this wine incorporated earthiness while not sacrificing a whit of purity was extraordinary. There is a touch of soy on top of a palate of sweet red fruit, and ample mineral underneath. If there's any knock against this beauty, it may be the length of finish not quite as grand as the soaring aromatics and beguiling palate. I love love love this wine.

June 23, 2018 - Drunk at Epure Hong Kong - From a bottle with extremely low ullage. Therefore, sadly oxidised to such a degree from which it couldn't recover. I couldn't help feeling there was a good wine in there somewhere.

February 13, 2018 - Twenty Eight Vintages of Roumier Bonnes Mares: Although showing its age, the 71 was delicious and with some time and air really became quite seductive.

December 24, 2014 - most amazing nose of roses and much finesse. A more feminine, elegant wine than I expected - just a bit short.

March 3, 2012 - From a bottle purchased at auction with a 5 cm ullage, this wine had a light red center and tawny rims. The medium+ intensity nose featured cherries, soil, plums, and a hint of fig.

In the mouth, this wine was light and refined but at the same time had a large flavor impact. It was rich on the attack and it showed strong acidity and light rounded tannin in the long finish. However, the wine was a bit light on the fruit and overly structure oriented in mid-palate and on the finish. Was this bottle a bit heat damaged? Was it for sure authentic?

While I would not say this bottle was pristine, it doesn't seem like age would improve the wine that was in this bottle. While good, it was disappointing given my expectations. Given that I obtained this bottle from Acker during their problematic period, this bottle's authenticity remains in question.

December 11, 2011 - This is great! Light ruby color, nose of red flowers, cherry and very deep nose. Very ripe fruit at first, nice acidity showed up after an hour of air. Palate with nice delicate layered attack on every sip, with long finish to match. Size and weight of a grand cru but with finesse to match, a truly great wine.
