August 4, 2023 - second release of this wine, The first vintage was 2010 as 2011 didn’t make the cut, and 2012 not enough grapes around and hence sidelined for another day. 2013 the mix of everything was right.

The 2013 Surveyor was selected from the best barrels that displayed superior fruit intensity and body. 100% new oak will allow this wine to develop into a graceful wine given time. 35yo vines

Colour surprisingly little change in colour from release deep purple impenetrable black red on the rim no bricking 15/15
Nose classic coonawarra choc mint, dark , brooding, complex layers of dark cherries, black olive blackberries cassis, mocha and chocolate. savoury mushroom, oak spice of vanilla cinnamon , hint of leather 28/30
Palate full bodied intense yet bright and generous in its complexity of flavours, with plums, star anise mint and rich luscious juicy fruit firm tannins chewy acidity , brooding , finishes long silky after taste. 42/44
Overall super perfectly balanced cabernet deserving of its flagship status now 10yo aging brilliantly 11/11

April 14, 2022 - PnP, sweet fruit non varietal specific, flat palate, some herbs.
Day 3, much better, big solid wine, plum, tar, heavy extract, bay leaf, firm tannins, leafy finish.
will come back in 5 years and hope for the best.

August 12, 2016 - Coonawarra Roadshow (Ivy, George Street, Sydney): red berry compote, biscuit, cream cedar…it's a bit sweet red fruit with drying tannins, it's quite jammy in fact and alcoholically warm…Meh
