July 22, 2021 - Served alongside JJ Prum WS Auslese and it was certainly playing in that league. I often find the Zind-Humbrecht wines have too much alcohol and extraction, I thought the 9% abv really helped this stay focused and precise.

October 17, 2020 - Simply stunning, intens and bright energy still.

August 9, 2020 - Sweet with dried tea leaves, orange marmalade, honeysuckle, petrol. A little acidity still there. Medium + body and a nice long finish Beautiful botrytis VT!

March 8, 2020 - Turning golden. Nose of mineral Riesling which follows onto the palate with a sweet citrusy burst of flavour. Intensely concentrated and sweet with great acidity. Whilst this tastes good now the fruit clearly has years to evolve and develop. There’s a tangy syrupy character that cries to be left at least another 10 years. This is an amazing wine with massive concentration, but it’s a baby. I think this could run until 2030 at least. Further complexity will evolve but must and deserves to be given lots of time. Just 9% alcohol gives the wine a lightness of touch without losing any flavour or concentration.

November 30, 2017 - My second bottle of this, with consistent notes. Consumed last night with a chicken curry dish with just a touch of spice that my lovely wife made for me. A perfect pairing. Not much I can add that hasn't already been covered in the excellent notes. Just really nicely balanced between the sugar and acid, kinda smoky, and very long. Like some others, I get mostly orchard fruits --- pear and apricot. Honestly, if served blind I'm not sure I could distinguish this from a JJ Prum Wehlener auslese of similar vintage, except maybe not quite the petrol in the ZH. Wish I had more. Tonight I plan to drink the last glass with some blue cheese. I will provide an addendum if any additional revelations.
