Community Tasting Notes 2

February 27, 2019 - This is a great bottling. Belharra is made in the same facility that produces some of the most sought after wines in Napa by their young cellar master. On the several occasions that I tasted this wine, I have been impressed. The Carneros fruit comes through quite sweet and voluptuous while the style is markedly old school. This package in all provides an interesting intellectual contrast to the central valley Rhone bottling we all came to love. Where in the south you get Rayas clones treated by the heavy hands of men following Krankl's footsteps (or god-like in the case of Krankle himself), Belharra has a lighter touch elegance that can be easily mistaken as old world if the quintessential Napa fruit did not give it away. Love this. I hope the wine makers stick to it and prices don't go up too quickly.
