Bottle B- high shoulder fill, but drinks much older than other bottle. Red fruit, but dank, acrid, I put aside. C+/C -

January 16, 2019 - Drank alongside a 1928 Giscours, but this was the wine of the night. Slightly hazy to cloudy. Garnet to tawny in colour. A developed nose. Leather, green pepper, tobacco and cigar. Very complex and balanced. My first 1959, and I can see why it is a legendary vintage. Served blind by ST.

January 16, 2019 - Medium light red, very old Bordeaux, very mellow, thought an 1982, 50s gosh, 1959! Drank along with the 1928 Giscours! Amazing wine! Jaw dropping experience

January 15, 2017 - Munskänkarna Göteborg, Bordeaux-tasting 50´s to the 90´s.
From magnum
Of course very mature, with a very light brick-colour.
On the nose some sweet fruits, a hint of smoke. On the palate medium bodied, still a fine acidity that keeps this wine togehter. Some red fruits left, earth, barnyard, some Tobacco. Long and balanced. A fine piece of bordeaux!2 people found this helpful Comment -

January 15, 2017 - Mature Bordeaux All blind and from Magnums except Pichon Baron and La Mission HB: Dark brick color. Sweet nose of jammy figs, earth and leather in a fine concoction. Still good balance and nice flavors. Acidity and resolved tannin and this sweet and sour fruit mix. Iron on the finish which fades rather quickly. Surprisingly this turned out to be the oldest wine tonight but more alive than many from around 69-71 vintages.
