April 23, 2020 - Very good and should get better with time. Drank over two nights with (1) a tri-tip steak and (2) a tri-tip steak sandwich...

April 16, 2020 - Tempted to give this a 95 like the other 2 folks. Definitely not one to miss though. This one would be easily passed up by those searching for the big label cabs. Thankfully, there are these really awesome cabs like this for the rest of us. Clone 4 cab grapes, this one has a slightly different rounded character compared to the Dyers and Diamond Creek wines that tend to be a little more raucous. Blackberry and some espresso on the opening. Lots of limestone in the middle as this one dries out to an herbal character to the finish. I still believe this is going to show another dimension in a couple of years which is consistent with my previous rating from 2016. Good now but will be better. Too bad this is my...umm..last one.

November 27, 2016 - Thank goodness I had the willpower to leave one of these behind in storage. This wine didn't really start expressing until it had been open for over 3 hours. The nose was oak and blackberry and a hint of flint/graphite. The entry of the wine (after 3 hours) was dark, fine grit pencil lead with dark black fruity backbone that was still muted by the oak that was still there even 3 hours later from start to finish. The middle of this wine is a little darker, still has the black core and the gravelly notes of Diamond Mountain. Finished with blackberry, herb, graphite, black pepper, and a lotta lotta tannin. This one is going to be AWESOME in five years, but until then the best place for this one to sit is in the cellar.

April 15, 2016 - Deeper complexity than the 2012, and the 2012 is very good. This is a magnificent wine. Was a pnp, so will continue to evolve tonight. Enjoy.
