    December 26, 2023 - Over two days.

Quite fresh for moderately aged Cahors. Leaning modern and somewhat heavy overall, with too much oak treatment. This aside, bold, well structured, and gripping.

April 29, 2019 - This was truly one of the weirdest wines I've popped.

Day 1 opening: I could have sworn it tasted/smelled like a musty basement. Like maybe some infiltration. Was quite nasty. A sink spitter.

Day 2, morning: Poured into decanter in the morning.

Day 2, afternoon: After 5 hours, hmmm, could this be palatable?

Day 2, evening: 13 hours of decant. Amazing. Quite drinkable. Never had a malbec go through so many incantations. Quite fruity. Mustiness gone.

Day 2, late evening: Finished it with the lovely wife.

I rated it probably lower than most would. Just didn't feel the initial smell and taste warranted a higher rating.

    WEiRd!

April 4, 2018 - A very good modern Cahors showing medium/full body, quite rich red and dark fruit, good depth, suave texture and good acidity leading to a firm finish with ripe tannins. My only reservation is lack of Cahors typicity. Very good though.

August 8, 2017 - WSET Level 3 Award for Wine Course; 8/7/2017-8/11/2017 (West London Wine School): deep ruby, with intense notes of blackcurrant, cassis, liquorice, dark chocolate, tobacco; still need some more years in bottle

June 9, 2017 - Earthy nose. Smooth on the palate with high acidity and medium tannins. Could use more depth, but still very well-balanced.
