March 13, 2019 - Bright, vibrant, dark red robe.
The nose subtle but deep and complex throughout, plum, game, mint, confection.
A very youthful palate, cassis, soy, black cardamom spice, licorice, Christmas cake. Bright acidity, very prominent tannin. Not overly long. Improved over several hours. All things considered very lovely. Might well go another 44 years?

September 13, 2015 - Second Sunday Group: 1975 Bordeaux (Augie's): Faded garnet core with bricking at the meniscus. Aromas of dried tobacco, with a hint of bouillon, and dried plums. Trying to write current fruit-plummy; hint of spices on the finish. Develops aromas of pine sap and dried herbs. Nice mix of red and dark fruit on the palate.

    My #3, Domino's #3
    Group #5, 48 points

June 5, 2015 - Open up tight. Better after 2 hours. Still good color. great nose of herbs and spice. Pencil lead, cedar box, cherry tobacco.
A bit past its prime, but still drinking fine.

March 28, 2015 - No rating as my experience with 40 year old Bordeaux is (sadly) too limited to be relevant. Saturated cork. Raisins. Fairly deep red. Pulled the cork and let it breathe for an hour. I'm inclined to think it was oxidized but, again, I don't have enough experience. Three of us did finish off the bottle so it certainly wasn't undrinkable!

January 4, 2009 - This drank amazingly well considering the fill level was mid-shoulder. This still had the classic claret fruit and a touch of iron and soft tannins. It held up well throughout the meal. It is nice tasting a Bordeaux without gobs of hedonistic fruit.
