October 27, 2019 - To the nose, dark fruit with forest floor, slight vegetal, and oak. Opens up after 45 min with slight red to the nose. On the palate, blackberry with some boysenberry, black cherry and black raspberry - plus black licorice on first glass (59F). Forest/mushroom as well. This is old world, not fruit forward, in style. No real oak or leather now, but a slight cream soda remnant. Medium to med-thin mouthfeel; medium to med-short length. Barely any noticeable tannins at this date. A pleasant, nice to drink and savor wine. Paired with spaghetti, would go well with pizza (esp. sausage & mushroom!).
