December 3, 2020 - Clearly destemmed, Duroche’s Gevrey Village shows no delicate whole bunch aromas, such as japanese strawberries or warm berry compote. Instead leading with the dark fruit profile of pinot noir that has struggled to ripen in an inclement growing season, and has been allotted longer time on the vine. Ie the pomegranate and blackberry of New Zealand pinot. Tannic, high acid and lacking flesh, it directed guesses towards 2014, and such cold growing regions as the Upper Yarra and New Zealand. Hugely underwhelming, with vintage likely to be the main contributing factor

December 1, 2020 - Tasted blind, guessed New World - Australia. Intense stemmy & oaky character comes out on the nose. Very sour, but subtle on the palate. Definitely needs 1-2 years in the bottle to transform into a softer Pinot, but there is not much depth to support the long-term bottle aging on this. Passable Gevrey.

August 26, 2020 - Wow. All the hype, too. Purity and elegance is remiscent of Fourrier style. At the same time, the Gevrey character was less apparent.
