Community Tasting Notes 11

August 24, 2022 - Library tasting at the winery. This was relaxed actually firing on all cylinders and ready to go. It must have started out somewhat austere though. Aromatics of pomegranate, eucalyptus and sous bois. Could very much confuse me for a Gevrey village wine with its muscularity and savory tones. Delightful.

February 26, 2021 - Deep ruby color. Not giving up much on the nose, a little vanilla. Bracing acidity with drying finish, but somehow feels a touch out of balance. Past it’s prime? Did I let it sit in the glass for too long before tasting? Withholding the usual Failla red fruit pleasures. Based on the other notes I feel I’m missing out on something.

May 23, 2020 - Is cherry confit a thing? Because that’s how I would describe this. An explosion of fruit held in check by intense savory notes. Paired with a stellar poolside charcuterie.

April 25, 2020 - A wine of bracing intensity. A brilliant balance of fruit, acid and minerality, wrapped in a seductive mid-weight delivery system.
