December 27, 2020 - This is still a very dark purple/black. Mildly aromatic with lots of oak and bramble fruit. Bordeaux-sized and oaky on the palate with some black fruits and somewhat astringent tannin. The most interesting feature is the incredibly salty finish. The salinity just goes on and on. This is mineral and umami driven. Solid showing. 89

Laisser respirer 30 min. Un vin sérieux et très recommandable.

September 29, 2016 - Bargain. Open right up out of the bottle and very smooth.

March 26, 2016 - Fermented in stainless steel and aged for 12 months in Alliers oak barriques. 14,5% alcohol.

Very dark, almost fully opaque plummy reddish-purple color. Very open, expressive and rich nose with aromas of sweet, dark plums, ripe dark berries, some mocha tones, a little bit of woody oak spice and a hint of milk chocolate. The wine is full-bodied, rich and moderately hot on the palate with quite concentrated flavors of ripe red plums, juicy blackberries, sweet black cherries, some allspice, a little bit of savory woody spice and sweeter hints of chocolatey oak and mocha. The wine is firm and moderately tannic, but while the acidity feels moderately high, they really don't feel adequately high to lend the wine enough freshness and balance. The finish is quite hot with sweet-toned, medium-long and somewhat oaky flavors of milk chocolate, dark plums, some juicy black cherries, a little bit of blackberry marmalade and a hint of savory wood spice.

A rather tasty and thoroughly drinkable but also very generic and predictable Douro red. Nothing bad, but nothing of real interest either. Feels a bit too sweet-toned and oaky for my taste with more emphasis on the ripe fruit than freshness and balance. Feels a bit pricey at 8,99€ for a half bottle - I'd be prepared to pay that much for a full bottle.

Melko geneerinen Douro. Ihan kiva ja maukas tapaus, kyllähän tätä ilokseen hörppii, mutta ei herätä suuria tunteita.

February 11, 2016 - Some ripe red and dark fruit on the nose. Medium bodied and smooth on the palate with gentle and firm tannins, delivering ripe tart red toned fruit with a medium long finish. A decent wine but given the price tag I expected more.
