Community Tasting Notes 20

November 19, 2021 - Drank over 2 days. Definitely improved with air. The nose was heavy petrol along with other, numerous notes behind the petrol. The palate was bright and youthful. My friend was stunned when I told him the year. That friend's eyes kept rolling back in his head as he smelled and tasted it. Complex, long and bright fruit along with herbal notes. Friend said it was the most substantial wine he'd had in years.

Day two was better. The petrol was gone and it was more about canned apricot. More luxurious. Really good. My score might be low. Just a great bottle.

November 8, 2020 - This is lovely and so easy to drink. Very soft on the palate. Meyer lemon, some subtle petrol on the nose, somewhat flowery, and some subtle but not overwhelming acidity.

June 20, 2020 - Ok, now about five years later and this is just a lovely wine. It has those typical mosel flavors that I find hard to place (sort of subdued, even musty at times), but some nice citrus and acid that do not overwhelm, but instead provide a nice lift to it all. Just very easy to drink. Some complexity, though not enough to bring it to the next level for me. But yet again a wine that makes me wonder why I do not drink more riesling.

NOSE: initially, moderately expressive, and then a bit more with air; medium petrol; floral; faint whiff of baked carrots.

BODY: medium-rich pale yellow color; no spritz; medium-full to full bodied.

TASTE: high acidity; 8% alc. not noticeable; typical MSR Riesling flavors; some mineral on the finish; Drink or continue to hold. recently purchased for $20, and that represents a great bargain.

    B: 50, 5, 12, 15, 7 = 89
