October 16, 2019 - Purchased on release in 2008 and stored in my temp-controlled wine cellar ever since. I had high hopes for a nice Bordeaux to go with Porterhouse steak, baked Idaho potato and grilled asparagus. Decanted 2-3 hours before dinner. Worked my butt off all day replacing deck boards and was looking forward to a treat.
In one word the wine was boring. Tasted at 4pm as I decanted, dry and weak, drank at 7pm with a perfect grilled steak, boring. Not much of a nose, nothing exciting on the palate and hasn't transformed at all (like some great Bordeaux often do). Oh well 2005 is a tough vintage to figure out despite the hype back then.

October 9, 2019 - Good but not mind blowing. Really showed up after ~3hrs of decanting

September 15, 2019 - From .375, mature and ready to drink with PnP. Full bodied Margaux. Great year for this chateaux.

August 22, 2019 - I found Racetreats note from July 2019 very descriptive of my experience.

August 10, 2019 - This is firing on all cylinders! One of the better drinking classified left banks to drink now. Medium to fill bodied. Open for business after a 45 minute decant. Really punches above it’s weight class for a $50 bottle.
