Community Tasting Notes 25

September 22, 2020 - Bought a few at the winery about 17 years ago, probably around 30/b. Decanted with normal sediment for its age. Dark purple; very mature red fruit nose, esp plums, that follows on the palate, portlike mouthfeel--not always a good thing, better with food. Probably more to my taste several years ago. Stored horizontally in a cool, dark basement since purchase. My evaluation: For me, scores on a "100-point scale" are misleading. I use a 4-category scale (perhaps with +/-)--not including flawed--which runs outstanding/notable/drinkable/poor. This is notable- when considering quality, age, and price.

November 27, 2014 - Garnett red. Soft in the mouth. Nice balanced structure but clearly on the downward slide.

November 12, 2013 - Drink up if holding - it is starting to fade.

May 29, 2011 - Great dark fruit, long finish. Opened and decanter for 2 hours. Excellent match with rosemary/garlic marinated leg of lamb.

May 22, 2011 - Still drinking well. Similar to my last tasting note.
