November 1, 2023 - good wine, but I like Paso Robles' Syrah's a lot better, especially given the price. Strong meaty, smoke flavor, little fruit

September 11, 2023 - Coravin poured with aeration and compared to the 2014 on the same basis. The 2013 definitely displays more depth and nuance on the palette with a longer finish and smooth, but more pronounced tannins. The 2014 is lighter in weight and more fruit forward -- not unpleasant in the slightest, but a bit less interesting in its lesser complexity. Nose on both is similar, with notes of sweet tobacco and fresh turned forest loam on the 2013, and sweet cherry on the 2014. Both are quite good, but the 2013 gets the slight edge in my book.

April 14, 2023 - Ruby red in color. 13.5% ABV. Stunning nose of red fruits, saline and flowers. Light to medium body with exquisite acidity. The flavors here are so clearly unique to the Rocks District. Cherry, gamey meat, umami and minerals on the palate. The finish is long and savory. Awesome wine that got better with time in the glass. Best over the next 2-3 years.

March 31, 2023 - Drank with dinner, no formal notes. This remains big and rich and in need of a good decant to reveal its layers. Lot of funk and dark fruit. Evolving nicely, but not giving an inch of size or depth.
