Community Tasting Notes 20

December 22, 2013 - I have gone through several bottles of this wine over the years and never enjoyed it. It's thin, sour and dry. There's no life, no flesh, it's like an empty shell with vague flavours and not much pleasure. Avoid or drink up.

December 4, 2013 - Opened 12/3/13. Wondered if an off vintage pomerol would hold its own at 14 yrs. Decanted 30 minutes. It didn't help. Nose was basically non existent, a little barnyard and winery must, faint dried red currant and tobacco. Colour and texture not bad but structure was waning and wine was unbalanced. I would suggest that if you have this wine drink it now. It is on its way out.

August 25, 2013 - This wine had a wonderful fruity nose. On tasting there was a licorice note that was quite lovely.

August 17, 2013 - S FL WS Group Summer Offline (Market 17 - Ft. Lauderdale, FL): Mostly currant fruit with medium body and acidity and fully resolved tannins and light leather and earth on the finish. Mature Bordeaux at its peak now in a classic, understated style. Surprisingly good showing.

August 29, 2012 - Opened the first bottle. First glass very sharp, needed some air. Left it overnight, and it opened up nicely, but not very distinct in flavor. Next bottle we decanted, which then opened up nicely, but still not distinctive. Nice with meat, but indeed already over the top.
