March 27, 2021 - Quite pruny from the get go, there is some black cherry, but also an alcohol note that is quite in-your-face.
1 hr + ... fruit is sitting on a layer of smoke along with notes of earth, plum, and spice with a smoked-cola note. Not sure it will ever get smooth in that Zin-way, in fact it leans more smoky-earthy-oaky, which lingers, unpleasantly. I'm missing the sweet fruit note and a silkiness; and although only 13.8% - I find the wine disjointed: More spicy than fruity, more earthy than expected, more oaky than I want. ... This did not age like I wanted it to. -

January 21, 2021 - Very much enjoyed this. Blueberry and raspberry on the nose, with some spice. Tasted of dark red fruit, some vanilla, maybe even cola, bit of paprika.
Held up to steak and a very garlicky chimichurri on the first night. Went a little less well with boeuf bourgignon on night two. -

April 4, 2020 - Decanted 2 hours. Crimson red. Slight bricking on the edges. Cherry-vanilla is the predominant aroma. Bright red cherries, bramble, cranberry, slight bit of vanilla. This is in a very good spot. The fruit is still primary but certainly compared to 2018 it is fading a little bit, which I quite enjoy.

January 28, 2020 - Tasting at Frog's Leap: Aromas of briary earth, root spices, plum and blackberry. Elegantly textured and with round smooth structure. Nice depth and balance.

May 30, 2019 - Delicious dark fruits on the nose, With maybe just a touch of leather. Comes in on a medium mouthfeel, the palette gives up being cherries and all the dark fruits come up with just a hint of pepperiness, That curiously lessens when eaten with the rigatoni a and marinara and herbed ricotta with the generous application of pepper! Great with buttered ciabatta. Medium finish.
5/31 - Good with pizza
