September 20, 2017 - Released WAY TOO YOUNG. The only thing I can do when I see Moon Mountain is to compare this to a Kamen Cab. And, I just don't think that this one has the bones to compete. Yes, it has a lot of density. Much more full throttle, but this one is just YOUNG. Very acidic, youthful oak barrel finish. Nice blackberry front but just seems a little disjointed. In 5 years, this one will do WELL. Therefore, I feel a little weird rating this wine as I feel that it's just not ready to go yet. Today, I would give it an 87, but I feel that it could be worthy of 93 if it just had some time to hang out in the bottle.
