July 29, 2018 - Decanted for 10 hours before consumption. Given the year and the producer, I expected size and depth and intriguing fruit, but this bottle felt like Torrin Lite. The fruit was subdued as was the heft, and it simply did not provoke much interest.

April 16, 2018 - A bit monolithic but worked reasonably well with food. It's the spice streak on the finish that adds the interest.

January 19, 2018 - I've enjoyed several years of Torrin Syrahs and GSM blends. I'm not a fan of the Shadow Canyon Syrah. Old world Côte-Rotie Northern Rhone style without that kiss of fruit that brings a good Syrah together. Earthy, leathery and gamie with no up front fruit. I don't see this wine evolving to anything special.
