May 13, 2022 - Fantastic left bank flavors, dark color, a bit of a gritty quality. Drinking well now after a couple of hours. Bold cab dominated flavors, tannins not fully resolved. While really good now, this has another 15-20 years of life easy. Impressive.

May 13, 2022 - This wine is drinking great currently. Wine has a dark purple color to it. Has a beautiful bouquet of red fruit. Wine is dense with flavors of dark fruit and earth. This wine can go quite a few more years before I’d consider opening another. I think there is potential in this wine that time will unlock.

March 26, 2022 - More than 3 years since my last bottle and it has certainly evolved and become more mature although still improving. Ripe and dense fruit that has clearly mellowed and tannins have softened quite a bit. Nice classic left-bank notes are evolving. A fine wine now with even more upside.

October 16, 2021 - One of my favorites! Still very young and tight. Decanted 1hr+ and needs much more. Slowly started to come alive after 2+hrs. Dark red color. Nose has dark cherries and graphite. Insane velvety texture. Could swirl in my mouth all day long. Balance of Napa and Bordeaux. Medium plus finish.

July 7, 2021 - Medium dark red color. New oak and jammy fruit bouquet. Rich, lush ripe flavors. Concentrated and mouth filling. Powerful wine. Enjoyable now, it could use 3 more years Of aging.
Double decanted 2 hours prior to tasting.

From Mark’s 2005 Bordeaux Vintage Tasting:
Attended a 36 wine ‘05 Bordeaux tasting recently. The wine above is one of those wines. Served single-blind.
All wines were tasted over a 2 day period, 18 per day. The wines served on the 1st day had their corks pulled two hours prior. The second day’s wines were served “ double-decanted”, 2 hours before the first flight. The overall tasting experience was quite different, as one would expect. Day 2 wines were softer, displaying more ripe fruit, and less harsh tannins.
Kudos to Mark for both a fantastic experience as well as providing an instructive opportunity on how the 2005 Bordeaux vintage is showing at this stage.
