February 16, 2024 - Similar tasting notes to one year ago but is getting just a bit better. Went very well with grilled strip and roasted asparagus. Good on its own as well, but better with rich food.

June 30, 2023 - stood upright for a week, and decanted off the fine sediment. If I had been served this blind, I'd have thought it was a youngish Loire cabernet franc from a vintage where the fruit didn't quite get ripe. Medium bodied, acidity and enough tannin to give it structure, some olive some green flavors that haven't managed to evolve into something more interesting.

May 5, 2023 - ZPEARSON has it pretty spot on. Lots of olive on the nose and dusty tannins on the finish. Fruit is quite muted. Forest floor, game, mushroom. Definitely old world in style. Seems to have shed the vegetal elements I noted a few years ago. This is settling in nicely if you like the style.

April 4, 2023 - Decanted for an hour, mainly due to sediment. Purple-garnet, clear, with some clearing at the rim. The nose is immediately tapenade and wild/gamy scents, then violets, sweet raspberries, and herbs. The palate has some pretty black raspberry sweetness to it (augmented by bottle sweetness) and balanced acid, but turns savory on the finish - dusty violets, oilves, and some grippy tannins.

September 18, 2022 - Beautiful rich garnet tinged with purple. Open nose of dried herbs, black olive and black fruits. Black raspberry on the palate, with touch of herbs and that olive note, but then hints of blackberry and pomegranate. Has the type of acidity that you get when you bite into pomegranate seeds, maybe acidified? Medium finish. Kudos for making a French style syrah from the 1960s. Likely ageless.
