February 17, 2020 - Drank from 375ml bottled in 2015. Decanted 4-6 hours. Extraordinary expression of cask aged Madeira. Cola, molasses, cocoa powder and walnuts. Woody spice and coffee bean background along with many secondary notes. Long distinct finish with an appropriate amount of sweetness, however the sugar level is not overbearing. A point or two better than the 1957 Blandy’s bual tasted alongside, in my opinion. Both are very interesting but this has superior depth that draws your nose back to the glass time and again.

November 5, 2019 - Joseph Drouhin Dinner (Medlar (London)): I am not a experienced Madeira drinker but this was a nice way to conclude the dinner complimenting the chocolate mousse and caramel tartlet well.

February 20, 2018 - 100% Bual, poured from magnum. Aged for 53 years in seasoned American oak casks. 1104 x 75cl bottles released. Also available in halves, magnums and jeroboams. Guide price for the magnum listed as £570.
At the end of long day tasting around the John E Fells portfolio this was quite simply a magnificent, mind-blowing experience. It effectively ruined any chance of tasting anything else afterwards and no, dear reader, I did not spit it out. My note simply says 'off the charts. 99+'1 person found this helpful Comment
