August 9, 2020 - Second Sunday Group: 2015 Chianti Classico Riservas (Eagle Brook CC): From magnum, courtesy of PB. Fairly deep color with aromas of bruised orchard fruit and almonds. There's a stony element underneath. Apple fruit on the palate; good balance and length.

March 23, 2015 - Much more advanced than my bottle from three years ago. Given the difference between the two, I'd call this one mildly premoxed, but still enjoyable - good with food and showing nice length and verve. Just nowhere near the level of my last bottle.

May 21, 2012 - This is not only better than the 2001 version of this wine, but also shows much younger at this stage. Blind I would likely call this no more than 5 years old. Straw honeyed color. Some sulphur on the nose initially which blew off in about an hour to reveal a vegetal nose with some wet straw undertones. With 3-4 hours of air the nose became sweeter with less funk and more almonds and caramel aromas. The palate also needed a couple of hours of air to get going and showed very nice weight and laser precision. Starts with white fruits on the front end, but then grapefruit infused minerality kicks in and leads to a long and very intended finish. This is absolutely fantastic tonight and premox aside should have a very long life ahead.

May 20, 2012 - A very dry cork fell apart when opened. Wine was shot. Too bad.
