February 4, 2024 - Fruit reticent, lacking in freshness and almost dried (which gained day 2) adding to bits of herb, underbrush, leather. Elegant and composed but not the most giving and the fruit seems to be falling out a bit. Probably, at least this bottle was better, a year or two before. Still nice. Medium plus finish. Drink in the short term as this lighter is elegant now but lacking the stuffing for much more aging

November 19, 2022 - This was decanted over the after noon and drunk in the evening. Even with all of that air, it kept unravelling with a gorgeous and nuanced take to the tones of dark red cherries, raspberries, sour red berries, savory herbs, crushed rocks, violets, wild flowers, leather, and licorice. This has excellent depth with the tones really reaching into the upper register. The Medium bodied feel is poised and elegant with tart, medium+ acidity and silky, medium+ tannins that is all backed up with a refined and lengthy finish. This is right in a great window right now. It does need some air to get going, but it is so worth opening and enjoying as it plays more to nuance and elegance rather than brute strength.

October 23, 2021 - Discreet and subtle on the nose, “Burgundian” as they say. Blind-tasted you could mistake nose and colour for a burgundy. Very energetic with fresh, fruity flavours on the palate. Acidic, mouthwatering. Broad, long aftertaste, in no way a lightweight. Reminds of the saying “iron fist in a velvet glove”. Quite present drying tannins, clearly best with food now. Had it myself with a ribeye grilled with loads is rosemary, Tuscany style. Really, really nice, traditionalist brunello as I personally like them best. Will develop in the cellar but is ready for my taste.

June 12, 2021 - Second bottle after my 2/20 TN, and a fairly different experience. The fruit, mostly red berries, has become fuller and fleshier, but even after several hours of air, the tannins and acidity, both prominent, didn't integrate or balance particularly well, either with each other or the fruit. A savory quality does make the wine not unenjoyable, and it was a good match with chicken cacciatore, but still, whether it was the difficult vintage, an off bottle or this is just is in a down period, the experience from this generally excellent BdM house was a bit disappointing. Not quite sure to tell others holding this, since the fruit became somewhat raisiny on night 2, which would seem to militate against a lengthy hold, even with the tannins and acidity mentioned above. Hoping my '12 and '13s will be better. 90-91

May 22, 2021 - Really nice and very well balanced brunello, still quite impressive fruit for a rather “dry” vintage. Guess I will drink my last bottle within this year, though.
