Community Tasting Notes 13

January 10, 2012 - Muted red berry nose with a slight hint of alcohol. Rather flat in the mouth, some tobacco, strawberry. Wine seems tired.

February 9, 2010 - Smells like sulfur. Very flat on the palate.

January 25, 2010 - Good, not great. Some nice dark fruit and spicy notes. Definitely fruit forward. Finish was a bit flat. Perhaps it's past it's prime.

January 9, 2010 - tasty, but unremarkable. ripe cherry and plum fruit, with notes of rhubarb, cola, cinnamon, smoke, carmel and underbrush (pine needles). fresh, good weight (not too heavy). but lacks structure, and no strong sense of terroir. tannins are pretty low key. flavors are thinning and fading. getting flabby, i think. has no stuffing. drink now. not sure why i liked this so much before. either my tastes have really evolved, or this wine has really deteriorated. hoping the single vineyards will hold up.

October 3, 2009 - Blind Reds (Roberts House): Tasted double blind. Earthy strawberry notes, with even more earth showing on the palate -- this was clearly a new world pinot noir -- despite the earthy profile, the bright red fruit gave it away. I picked it at a $25 CA pinot noir
