Community Tasting Notes 5

July 10, 2021 - A bit schizophrenic during the first hour. Opens nicely, recedes into its shell, then comes back out slightly altered.

    Nice enough.

April 13, 2021 - It's not closed, but might still benefit from additional time in bottle. While it is smooth and has softened nicely, I'd suggest another 12 months in cellar and this one will be excellent. For what it's worth, my prior taste was in 2018 when it wasn't ready (tart/astringent and devoid of fruit or the characteristic pinot noir silkiness). Today's tasting was a dramatic improvement.

March 27, 2021 - High-toned perfume, bramble berries, vanilla bean. Intense yet classy on the palate. Nice, long finish.

November 14, 2018 - Drinking really well right now, not "shut down" at all, which happens with some Pinot Noir wines around 4 years out. Muted nose, lightly juicy with balanced red fruit. Paired well with fresh Everton cheese.

May 28, 2018 - Tasted back to back after the Alberigi and this has a sweeter mouthfeel, though it's not sweet. Very nice, smooth, perhaps even more enjoyable than the Alberigi as it lacks the cherry cola notes. Instead, it's a very focused red cherry Pinot Noir, without the earthy notes or the vanilla/lemon that rounds out the cherry cola of the Alberigi.
