  January 1, 2024 - Not a typical Paso big fruit bomb but something more refined and reserved--dark plum, blueberry fruit, black pepper and black olive, earth.

  October 28, 2023 - I was looking for a Syrah to go with chili for a Halloween neighborhood Chili Cook Off. I don't even remember buying this bottle and I don't think Denner even makes a 100% Syrah anymore. This was lighter than I expected on pnp and I gave it a 90 minute slow ox before consuming. No improvement with air. This had flavors of cassis, cherry, chocolate, and light spice although no black pepper on the finish that I expected. This was quite smooth and went well with the Chili.
  
  I haven't drank a lot of aged Syrah but this definitely felt past it's prime to me. Several other CT tasting notes referenced this by saying, "Lacking depth", "Not much potential left", and "Not much upside left". I drank a L'aventure Optimus which is a Syrah dominant blend right after this bottle and it was much bigger with a lot more structure to it. I would definitely drink up if I had bottles of this and I would try a 1-2 hour decant to see if you can breath a little more life in to this.

  March 12, 2023 - Drinking great right now. Nose of white pepper and leather. Bell balanced tannins and a long finish.

  March 10, 2023 - Excellent Paso syrah. Needed an hour of air to smooth it out, then it was just in the right place. Several years left in it.
