  June 9, 2015 - Chicago ♥ Selbach-Oster (Chicago, IL): #17-06, 9% abv. From half-bottle. Very honeyed and ripe; this is an absolutely massive Auslese that suffers from Praedikat-creep. It drinks at a BA level, but is missing the botrytis. There just isn't enough acid here for me, but the sheer power and density of this is really something to behold. An absolute powerhouse that will take many, many years to resolve.

  April 30, 2015 - Third Thursday tasting group (Vernon, CT): Incredible power and intensity here. This feels like a Beerenauslese, with an array of honey, vanilla, spicy botrytis notes, apricots, and other ripe tropical fruits all coming together very seamlessly into a whole that's immensely sweet, but also superbly balanced by its acidity. The flavours clings to the palate and resonate long after each sip. Absolutely fantastic wine, though it's still very primary now (albeit fantastic), and I can't imagine how much more time it'll need in the cellar.
