February 24, 2023 - My last bottle, purchased on release and stored in temperature controlled cellar. PNP. The nose shows forest floor, sage and autumnal notes to complement the deep and rich cherry cola fruit. Fresh and likely palate, cherry and orange rind, maybe just a bit heavy and deep fruited but it carries the 14% alcohol really well for a 23 year old RRV Pinot.

August 27, 2022 - A Night of Rochioli (Mostly West Block) (Classic Dallas): Translucent, medium brick color. Shy aromas of brown stems and leaves, medicinal herbs, and dried cherries. Palate with brown leaves, tart fresh and dried cherries, herbs and brown tobacco. Earlier in the evening, the tertiary flavors were stronger than the fruit. However, with more air, the fruit comes to the fore to bring better balance and the wine becomes more integrated. Very much enjoyed this as the wine came into better balance. My second favorite wine of the pinot flight.

July 30, 2022 - This was a total wow and not what I was expecting given the age. I was worried that it would be tired and portlike or almondy, but this has freshness, nice perfumed nose and mouth of dark fruit with some cola and spice and strawberry even, and a chewy and silky mouthfeel and medium finish. We stopped about halfway through, corked it and put it in fridge and then had it later at about 4-5 hours it was still going strong.

September 16, 2017 - Starts out with some real barn yard funk then opens up into berries and currants. Finishes with a funky earth.

August 11, 2017 - My experience is that Rochioli don't age well, but this is the exception. This wine was extraordinary for an aged CA Pinot Noir. Quite Burgundian in character. Earthy and lingering, tasty finish. I don't think they make them like this any more.
