June 7, 2017 - Pale orange color. Drank 2 glasses over 90 minutes. Last bottle of this and still very fresh and lively. Strawberry and watermelon on the nose with a floral aspect. The palate has really crisp acids, strawberry, watermelon, and hints of kiwi on top of a stony minerality. Darn good. 89 to 89+pts.

May 20, 2017 - 39th Annual Zinfandel Retrospective - the 2012s (R&D's): Opens with a dominant funky note with rose petal and berry underneath. Florally red fruit and strawberry flavors with bright acidity. The funky quality never blows off and I find it a bit distracting. Pass on this in favor of the 2016 vintage, which was delightful.
